The Women’s Fund at Austin Community Foundation announced today five local nonprofits were chosen to receive a combined total of $250,000 — the largest annual amount in the 15-year history of the Women’s Fund — for programs aimed at improving the economic security of Central Texas women and children.

Keyholder’18, the fundraising event for the Women’s Fund at Austin Community Foundation, held on Dec. 4 raised nearly $300,000, a record-breaking amount for the Women’s Fund, which supports the economic security of women and children in Central Texas.

A new report issued by the Women’s Fund at Austin Community Foundation, Child Care – An Essential Work Support for Women, reveals a lack of quality child care options in Central Texas negatively impacts the economic security of local women and children.

Austin Community Foundation awarded nearly $400,000 through the Women’s Fund and Hispanic Impact Fund, each with a strategic and thoughtful process aimed at closing the opportunity gap in Central Texas.
