Jared’s role:
As my incredibly lengthy job title implies, my primary responsibilities are focused in two areas. Firstly, I process incoming gifts and manage donation platforms. Secondly, I support the team with reporting requests in order to better analyze data and provide a greater impact.
What brought Jared to the Foundation:
I was drawn to the passion that Austin Community Foundation has for improving the lives of Central Texans. I moved to Austin in 2016 in search of community and found that through music and my interactions with visitors to the hostel that I managed. It fills me with joy knowing that the work I do has a direct impact on my local community. It is a privilege to work at ACF, as it is an organization that aligns with my personal dedication to uplifting and supporting those in need.
What Jared did before:
I worked as a patient coordinator in the medical field. While I learned a lot of valuable skills working in healthcare, I wanted to make a meaningful career change. Moving to the nonprofit sector was a great fit for me knowing that the work I do is making a change in the community I live in.
Jared’s favorite things to do in Central Texas:
Music has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I try to support the arts as much as possible by going to concerts. I enjoy spending quality time with my partner and our rescue dog, Bodie. Together, we like to cook and write music. I have a D&D podcast with a few friends that has been going on since 2020; it’s a fun creative outlet in which I write, make songs, and edit. When my nose isn’t buried in books, I like to keep up with TV shows and play video games.
