Jana’s role: My job is to manage the financial activities of the Foundation and its supporting organizations. I also oversee the annual budget, annual audit and tax return preparation.
What Jana likes most about working at the Foundation: I love being a part of an organization whose primary goal is improving lives in our community. The Foundation fosters philanthropy and is a vehicle to make impact happen.
What Jana did before: Out of my 22 years of accounting experience, I have spent 19 of those years in the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining Austin Community Foundation, I worked as the Finance Director for the Community Foundation of Abilene in West Central Texas. I graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a BBA in Accounting and am a CPA.
Jana’s favorite thing to do in Central Texas: I still consider myself a new Austinite and still have lots of exploring to do. Before moving to Austin, I was very involved in my children’s activities as they grew up and was involved in the Junior League of Abilene and various other local nonprofits. I love spending time with my family and friends, enjoy movies and being outdoors.
