The SAFE Alliance was one of the first nonprofits to receive funding from the Women’s Fund at Austin Community Foundation over 20 years ago. It has continued to receive support for its wide range of services, including emergency shelter, forensic exams, essential supplies, and educational programs. With a mission to “Stop Abuse For Everyone,” SAFE values input from survivors and adapts its services based on the real-life needs of the community. As a result, SAFE is expanding to provide permanent supportive housing through The Sasha, which is currently under construction with support from ACF’s Housing Accelerator Loan Fund. We sat down with Julia Spann, CEO, to learn more about SAFE’s impact—get the story below.
