Toni’s role: I lead the Community Impact team’s programming and engagement work. My primary responsibilities include coordinating programmatic events for the Foundation’s strategic programs, the Hispanic Impact Fund and Women’s Fund, supporting committee activities, and data management.

What brought Toni to the Foundation: Coming from the nonprofit sector in Austin, I was familiar with the Foundation’s work and its impact in the community. I was thrilled about the opportunity to work with an organization that acknowledges some of the most pressing issues that Central Texans face and that prohibit folks from obtaining economic and housing security. It’s motivating to work alongside a team that believes in investing in our community so that everyone can thrive.

What Toni did before: After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in International Relations and Global Studies, I immediately jumped into the nonprofit world. I then made the move to higher education and shortly after received my TEFL certificate, leading me to take a couple years off from the workforce to teach English abroad in Spain. After returning to my home state of Texas, I eventually made my way back to Austin and back into the nonprofit sector. While my past experiences centered more so around healthcare and client services, I am excited to shift to programming for the Foundation.

Toni’s favorite things to do in Central Texas: I love to either find a sunny spot at the park or cozy up on the couch to read my most current fantasy fiction obsession. I enjoy running, yoga, hiking, and going on walks with my senior chihuahua. You can often find me checking out live music shows of all kinds throughout Austin. When I’m not enjoying my beloved city, I’m either trying to decide on my next travel destination, or when I can visit my family in San Antonio and enjoy some good Mexican food.
