Melissa’s role:My central focus is on delivering exemplary service to our donors and fundholders. This includes service directly to our community, as well as developing client service resources and training for other team members. I also help maintain smooth and effective operations at the Foundation and assist with processing fund transactions.
What Melissa likes most about working at the Foundation:Joining the Foundation has brought me into an inspiring community of teammates, organizations, and donors committed to enriching our city. I love being connected to the thoughtful, innovative work happening in Austin.
What Melissa did before: For much of my career, I’ve concentrated on expanding the capacity of small nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining ACF, I served as the Operations Manager at NAMI Texas, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by mental illness. Before moving to Austin, I acted as the director of a community arts organization and served on the board of my local community foundation.
Melissa’s favorite thing to do in Central Texas:I can often be found enjoying the diverse community events and festivals across Central Texas with my family. I love spending time at Austin’s sculpture parks, interactive art experiences, and the Austin Central Library. I also find particular joy in making art and exploring Austin on my bike.
