Jared’s role: The primary responsibilities of my position are to provide exemplary service to Foundation fundholders, donors, and other constituents, process fund transactions in an accurate and timely manner, and provide administrative support for Austin Community Foundation operations and donor services. I ensure operations, transactions, and business functions are accomplished with the highest level of efficiency and accuracy.
What brought Jared to the Foundation:I was drawn to the passion that Austin Community Foundation has for improving the lives of Central Texans. I moved to Austin in 2016 in search of community and found that through music and my interactions with visitors to the hostel that I managed. It fills me with joy knowing that the work I do has a direct impact on my local community. It is a privilege to work at ACF, as it is an organization that aligns with my personal dedication to uplifting and supporting those in need.
What Jared did before: I worked as a patient coordinator in the medical field. While I learned a lot of valuable skills working in healthcare, I wanted to make a meaningful career change. Moving to the nonprofit sector was a great fit for me knowing that the work I do is making a change in the community I live in.
Jared’s favorite things to do in Central Texas: Music has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I try to support the arts as much as possible by going to concerts. I enjoy spending quality time with my partner and our rescue dog, Bodie. Together, we like to cook and write music. I have a D&D podcast with a few friends that has been going on for the past three years; it’s a fun creative outlet in which I write, make songs, and edit. When my nose isn’t buried in books, I like to keep up with TV shows and play video games.
