El’s role: My role on the Communications team is to plan and produce high-quality, integrated creative content for ACF’s various audiences across multiple channels. In addition to my day-to-day tasks—from graphic design, to website management, to photography and beyond—I help craft and execute our communications strategy.
What brought El to the Foundation: I was initially drawn to the Foundation’s commitment to identifying and funding the areas of greatest need in our community. The friendly and dedicated people I now call coworkers sealed the deal.
What El did before: After studying art in college, I worked in the nonprofit sector for the past six years, most recently at an affordable housing nonprofit in Minnesota. While working as the Events Coordinator there, I took on extra creative projects via freelance graphic design and videography. I’m grateful to be in a role where my background in art can finally be central to what I do every day.
El’s favorite thing to do in Central Texas: When I’m not crocheting or playing video games with my spouse and cat, I can often be found checking out a new restaurant, planning my next home project, or spending a warm evening on a patio with friends.
