El’s role: I work with the VP of Marketing and Communications to share the Foundation’s story across various mediums. My day-to-day tasks include creating graphics and layouts for digital and print materials; writing blogs, social media posts, and emails; and occasionally capturing photos and video.
What brought El to the Foundation: I was initially drawn to the Foundation’s commitment to identifying and funding the areas of greatest need in our community. The friendly and dedicated people I now call coworkers sealed the deal.
What El did before: After studying art in college, I worked in the nonprofit sector for the past six years, taking on extra creative projects via freelance graphic design and videography.
El’s favorite thing to do in Central Texas: Austin became home only recently, but as I write this I’m looking forward to (hopefully) finding a great experimental arts community and/or haunted house to volunteer at. In the meantime, I’ve been enjoying the abundance of veggie tacos and warm evenings on patios with friends.
