AUSTIN, Texas – Austin Community Foundation (ACF) announced today $1.1 million in grant funding will be awarded to 29 local nonprofits working to advance economic mobility in Central Texas. The Foundation’s strategic programs—the Hispanic Impact Fund and Women’s Fund—each awarded $550,000 in unrestricted, general operating support to the nonprofits listed below.
The Hispanic Impact Fund awarded grants to Latino-led or Latino-serving nonprofits working to support the economic mobility and advancement of Hispanic Central Texans across four impact areas: early childhood education, health and wellness, job skills and entrepreneurship, and leadership development
The Women’s Fund awarded grants to nonprofits working to support the economic mobility of women and children in Central Texas across five impact areas: childcare, education, housing, unintended pregnancy prevention, and women’s health.
The Hispanic Impact Fund and Women’s Fund operate as collective giving networks led by community members who share responsibility for the vision, fundraising, and grantmaking. Approximately 170 community members, including individuals with lived experience related to the strategic focus areas, participated in the grant selection process and thoughtfully vetted 125 applications. Among the nonprofits selected for funding, 31% are first-time grant partners.
“Austin Community Foundation is honored to partner with nonprofits that are creating lasting pathways to opportunity,” said Meagan Anderson Longley, chief impact officer, Austin Community Foundation. “These grants reflect the power of community members coming together to invest in solutions that strengthen families, expand access to education and healthcare, and move Central Texas toward greater economic mobility.”
Special thanks to Brown Advisory, PIMCO, Regions Bank, and St. David’s Foundation for generously supporting ACF’s economic mobility work.
