Megan’s role: I’m part of the community impact team which guides and manages the foundation’s community-facing work and initiatives. My work includes supporting the Foundation’s programs, like the Women’s Fund and the Hispanic Impact Fund.

What brought Megan to the Foundation: While learning about nonprofits here in Austin in my first year of graduate school, I saw how ACF empowered nonprofits and organizations doing meaningful work in the community. The foundation’s mission also aligns with my personal values of community service and promoting equity in my community.

What Megan did before: I’ve spent the last year and a half pursuing my masters in social work with the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin. In my first year, I worked with Capital City Village supporting programs that paired older adults with volunteers. Prior to graduate school, I spent five years as a technical writer in the software industry and volunteered as restorative justice facilitator for youth involved in the justice system.

Megan’s favorite things to do in Central Texas: On weekends, you can find me walking with my dog and partner to a taco truck for breakfast tacos. I also like exploring museums and biking on one of Austin’s many trails.
