Estevan’s role: I oversee the day-to-day operations of one of the Foundation’s signature programs, the Hispanic Impact Fund, which supports the economic security and advancement of Hispanics and Latinos in Central Texas through our investors and community partnerships.
What Estevan likes most about working at the Foundation: The best part about working at the Foundation is working with an amazing team that really cares about Central Texas and the people that live here. Together, we love listening and learning about our community to inform the work we do to invest in the hope and future of our region.
What Estevan did before: I moved to Austin in 2016 to attend graduate school at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. Since then, I’ve worked with Texas CASA’s public policy and legislative advocacy division (during the 85th Texas Legislative Session) and was a congressional fellow in Washington, D.C. with U.S. Congressman Gene Green of Houston. Before moving to Austin, I spent almost a decade in Houston, where I attended Rice University for my undergraduate studies.
Estevan’s favorite thing to do in Central Texas: I really enjoy indoor cycling, so you might catch me in class! Otherwise, you might find me at a coffeehouse drinking way too much caffeine or checking out Austin’s growing food scene with my friends. In my free time, I read way too much and love sneaking away to movies at Alamo Drafthouse.
