Austin Community Foundation announced the launch of The Black Fund, a new giving network that aims to unleash the power of Black-led organizations and uplift solutions to benefit the Black community in Central Texas. Driven by data and community voice, The Black Fund strives for an equitable, just society that nurtures the growth, economic security, and wellness of Black people.

Austin Community Foundation announced a $4 million impact investment in the form of a low-interest rate loan to Austin Habitat for Humanity to help accelerate the construction of 150 single-family homes at three sites. The sources of funding for the loan include a combination of grants and impact investments from Austin Community Foundation, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, St. David’s Foundation, Bill Wood Foundation, Shield-Ayres Foundation, the Aragona family, and a group of donor-advised fundholders at the community foundation.

Austin Community Foundation announced that 20 local students have been selected to receive a $25,000 scholarship from the Sheth Sangreal Scholarship Fund, a new fund managed by the community foundation.

The Hispanic Impact Fund awarded $365,000 to 28 nonprofit organizations working to advance economic opportunity for Latinos in Central Texas.
