We’re excited for you to join us at Austin in Common!

Below are answers to common questions to help you prepare for the event.

  • Free parking is generously provided by Silicon Labs. Please park in the Silicon Labs Garage (entrance at 166 Colorado Street) and tell the attendant you’re there for Austin in Common. The venue is located one block northwest of the garage at the intersection of Lavaca and 2nd.

  • It’s Austin, and we want you to be comfortable! Think fun, not formal when picking your outfit.

  • ACL Live at Moody Theater does not have a clear bag policy, but the venue does not allow backpacks and large bags (exceeding 11”x17”) into the venue for the safety and comfort of all attendees. Necessary diaper bags and medical bags are permitted. All bags and purses are subject to inspection.

Weapons of any kind are prohibited, along with illegal substances, outside food and drink, and items that would be disruptive. All patrons are subject to wanding and bag searches upon entry.

  • No, the seating will be theater-style with no VIP section. We all have Austin in Common—our goal is for you to meet someone new.

  • Austin Community Foundation strives to host inclusive, accessible events where all individuals can engage fully. See ACL Live’s accessibility page to learn more about the venue’s accommodations.

  • Check-in will begin at 6 p.m. Please arrive early to allow time for pre-show festivities, including mingling, food and drink, and music by DJ Mel. The program will begin around 7:15 p.m. and last about one hour, at which point the celebration will continue with dessert.

  • We’re grateful for your support of Austin Community Foundation’s mission to bring together ideas and resources to create a vibrant Central Texas. This work goes on even if the party doesn’t! If you’re unable to attend the event, we’re happy to record your gift as fully tax-deductible. Similarly, if the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, all gifts and sponsorships will be converted into fully tax-deductible contributions. No refunds will be issued.

  • Yes! You can support Austin in Common through your DAF at ACF. However, please be aware that the fund can only be used to cover the tax-deductible portion of your contribution. This is because a full tax deduction was received at the time of donation, but each sponsorship level has an associated non-deductible fair market value (FMV) for goods/services received at the event.

Please review these tips before making a gift to Austin in Common through your DAF.
