Apply for a Fiscal Sponsorship
You may submit your request for a fiscal sponsorship at any time. The entire review process takes 60-90 days and includes the following steps:
Submit an online application to be considered for a fiscal sponsorship. The application must include:
- Project description
- Project contact
- Expected annual budget
- Fundraising plan
- Anticipated social outputs or outcomes
- Separate entity documentation (The State of Texas offers several options for entity formation)
- List of advisory board members
2. Initial Review
Applications will be reviewed by Foundation leadership and the Fiscal Sponsorship Committee. Applicants may be asked to submit additional information for clarification. The initial review is focused primarily on the community impact to be accomplished by the proposed project and the project’s mission alignment with the Foundation.
Within 30 days of submission, applicants will be notified of the outcome of the initial project review.
3. Due Diligence
Successful applicants will be invited to provide a more detailed project along with fundraising and financial information. The final review will be completed by the Foundation’s leadership team within 30 days.
Successful applicants will receive a proposed fund agreement outlining the fiscal sponsorship relationship and including scope of services, fee structure and next steps.
Fees are determined based on the complexity and size of the project. Fees range from 5%-10% of deposits and are assessed monthly.
Accepted Projects will be invited to a mandatory in-person training (held quarterly) at Austin Community Foundation’s office. The training will include a review of the scope of services, requirements and best practices, and available tools.
