Other Grant Opportunities

While the Community Grant Program is the primary way a nonprofit may receive Foundation funds, there are several other grant opportunities that focus on specific needs or activities in Central Texas.

Women and Children 

The Women’s Fund of Central Texas awards about $135,000 in grants annually to improve the lives of women and children in our community. Grant requests are researched by a committee of Women's Fund members and the final selection is made by the entire Women's Fund membership. Learn more 

Summer STEM Collaborative

The Central Texas Summer STEM Funder Collaborative works to increase funding opportunities for high-quality Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Math (STEM) programs for youth during the summer. The collaborative seeks proposals annually from Central Texas nonprofits and public schools that offer academic STEM summer programs. Learn more

Swimming Programs for Underprivileged Youth 

Will Sarosdy Swim for Life Fund Grants are for programs that help and encourage underprivileged youth to participate in the sport of swimming. Not limited to Central Texas. Learn more

Barton Springs Salamander Research and Conservation 

The Barton Springs Salamander Conservation Fund was established to promote conservation and research that benefits the federally endangered Barton Springs Salamander, Barton Springs, and the Barton Springs watershed. Learn more.

Tree Conservation and Planting 
The City of Austin's Urban Forest Grant Program, established to promote tree conservation and other projects that benefit Austin's urban forest, has funding available to help preserve and grow Austin's canopy of trees. Projects eligible for funding include tree planting and preservation, education, public service announcements, disease control, and management of invasive species. Learn how to apply
