Donating Online Securely

Austin Community Foundation values the security, confidentiality and ease of your donation experience. We receive more than 4,000 online donations annually totaling more than $1 million.

Why don’t I see the HTTPS secure lock in the donation form URL?

Our online donation forms utilize the online fundraising software of Kimbia. Kimbia's patented technology allows donors to give securely anywhere on the internet through their secure widget technology regardless of whether the website has the secure lock showing.

What sort of measures do you actively undertake to ensure the security of donations to your funds?

We register annually to prove we are PCI Compliant with our online giving and confirm that we do not store individual credit card information.

In addition, Kimbia undergoes an audit of its security practices annually as part of its compliance with the payment card industry data security standards.  Kimbia is Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS 3.0) Level 1 certified – the highest available standard for credit card information security and privacy in the payment processing industry. In order to maintain this certification, each year Kimbia undergoes an audit performed by an independent auditor referred to as a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA).
