Investing in Women to Lift Our Whole Community

"If not us, then who? If not Austin, then where?" Andrea Jung ignited and inspired a full room at ZACH's intimate Topfer Theatre last Tuesday.

One of the Foundation’s strategic initiatives is improving opportunities for women and children in Central Texas through the Women’s Fund of Central Texas. The group is a growing leader in investing in women and children through data-informed grantmaking, educational programming and leadership. On October 25th, the Women’s Fund hosted Keyholder, an evening to convene as a community and take part in an important conversation on the proven efficiency of supporting women to impact entire communities.

Presented by U.S. Trust/Bank of America, Keyholder treated guests to a thought-provoking address by Andrea Jung, CEO of Grameen America, on women’s unique role as the most powerful engine of economic growth. Followed by a Q & A with Jung and Melinda Garvey, publisher of Austin Woman magazine, guests enjoyed conversation, tunes by DJ I Wanna Be Her and a donut bar.
