Ellen Ray is the Director of Grants and Strategic Initiatives for the Still Water Foundation, a position she has held since 1999. A private family foundation, Still Water primarily gives in Texas and its areas of concentration include the arts, education and the environment. Prior to working at the Foundation, Ellen was involved in the arts community in Houston, including as the Executive Director of FotoFest, an international photography festival, and at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She has a B.A. in Art History from Princeton University.
In addition to being a trustee of St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, Ellen has served on numerous boards, including Good Shepherd Episcopal School, the Elizabeth Ann Seton Development Board, and Arthouse (now The Contemporary). She is a founding board member and the first Board President of MindPOP, an organization dedicated to expanding creative learning in classrooms across Austin. Ellen’s husband, Mark, is an advertising creative director, and they have two children.
